Romans 12:13-15

¹³ distributing to the needs of the saints, given to hospitality.

¹⁴ Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.

¹⁵ Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep.

distributing = to take part with, to share

given to = pursue, earnestly seek. [Be] a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate (Titus 1:8).

Seek the welfare of those who do us injury.

Rejoice/weep — not just the absence of selfishness, but sympathy, sharing in feelings. And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it (1 Corinthians 12:26).

Whenever (5 places) Paul encourages generosity, it’s always to saints. As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith (Galatians 6:10).
