{"id":9724,"date":"2026-03-28T13:14:57","date_gmt":"2026-03-28T19:14:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/versebyverse.carpelibra.org\/?p=9724"},"modified":"2026-03-28T13:14:58","modified_gmt":"2026-03-28T19:14:58","slug":"ecclesiastes-129-14","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/versebyverse.carpelibra.org\/?p=9724","title":{"rendered":"Ecclesiastes 12:9-14"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><em><span class=\"text Eccl-12-9\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><sup class=\"versenum\">9\u00a0<\/sup>And moreover, because the Preacher was wise, he still taught the people knowledge; yes, he pondered and sought out\u00a0and set in order many proverbs.<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3><em><span id=\"en-NKJV-17534\" class=\"text Eccl-12-10\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><sup class=\"versenum\">10\u00a0<\/sup>The Preacher sought to find acceptable words; and\u00a0what was\u00a0written\u00a0was upright\u2014words of truth.<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3><em><span id=\"en-NKJV-17535\" class=\"text Eccl-12-11\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><sup class=\"versenum\">11\u00a0<\/sup>The words of the wise are like goads, and the words of scholars are like well-driven nails, given by one Shepherd.<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3><em><span id=\"en-NKJV-17536\" class=\"text Eccl-12-12\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><sup class=\"versenum\">12\u00a0<\/sup>And further, my son, be admonished by these. Of making many books\u00a0there is\u00a0no end, and\u00a0much study\u00a0is\u00a0wearisome to the flesh.<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3><em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><span id=\"en-NKJV-17537\" class=\"text Eccl-12-13\"><sup class=\"versenum\">13\u00a0<\/sup>Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: f<\/span>ear God and keep His commandments, for this is man\u2019s all.<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3><em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><sup class=\"versenum\">14\u00a0<\/sup>For God will bring every work into judgment, including every secret thing, whether good or evil.<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3>These final six verses serve as the epilogue to the book.<\/h3>\n<h3>proverbs (v.9) \u2014 Solomon also wrote most of the book of Proverbs.<\/h3>\n<h3>acceptable (v.10) = understandable, appropriate for the readers<\/h3>\n<h3>goads (v.11) = sharp sticks used to poke animals to make them move. Words of wisdom should prod believers to act properly.<\/h3>\n<h3>nails (v.11) \u2014 Wisdom should make us secure and stable, the way a nail secures a board.<\/h3>\n<h3>A study of man\u2019s words (v.3) can never bring wisdom.<\/h3>\n<h3>After all the things Solomon considered in his life, his conclusion was that the entire purpose of man is to fear God and obey Him. This is the \u201cwhole duty\u201d (v.13) of man, the reason he exists.<\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #008000;\">And here is the \u201cfinal answer\u201d to man\u2019s purpose: to know and obey God. Why? Because God will bring EVERYONE into judgment. At that day, will you be found in Christ and free from condemnation\u201d (<a style=\"color: #008000;\" href=\"https:\/\/versebyverse.carpelibra.org\/?p=343\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Romans 6:23<\/span><\/a>;\u00a0<a style=\"color: #008000;\" href=\"https:\/\/versebyverse.carpelibra.org\/?p=1189\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Philippians 3:9<\/span><\/a>)? Or will you be found outside of Christ and condemned for eternity? (Revelation 20:12-15). \u2014 Grace, page 1182.<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">__________<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<div>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #008000;\">Human writings, however numerous, lead nowhere, and only produce weariness. The Divine writings lead to Christ and to heaven; they are words of delight; and they refresh and do not weary.
