{"id":9360,"date":"2026-03-11T17:07:20","date_gmt":"2026-03-11T23:07:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/versebyverse.carpelibra.org\/?p=9360"},"modified":"2026-03-11T17:07:20","modified_gmt":"2026-03-11T23:07:20","slug":"ecclesiastes-14-8","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/versebyverse.carpelibra.org\/?p=9360","title":{"rendered":"Ecclesiastes 1:4-8"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><span id=\"en-NIV-17320\" class=\"text Eccl-1-4\"><sup class=\"versenum\">4&nbsp;<\/sup>Generations come and generations go, <\/span><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"text Eccl-1-4\">but the earth remains forever.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><span id=\"en-NIV-17321\" class=\"text Eccl-1-5\"><sup class=\"versenum\">5&nbsp;<\/sup>The sun rises and the sun sets, <\/span><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"text Eccl-1-5\">and hurries back to where it rises.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><span id=\"en-NIV-17322\" class=\"text Eccl-1-6\"><sup class=\"versenum\">6&nbsp;<\/sup>The wind blows to the south <\/span><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"text Eccl-1-6\">and turns to the north; <\/span><\/span><span class=\"text Eccl-1-6\">round and round it goes, <\/span><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"text Eccl-1-6\">ever returning on its course.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><span id=\"en-NIV-17323\" class=\"text Eccl-1-7\"><sup class=\"versenum\">7&nbsp;<\/sup>All streams flow into the sea, <\/span><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"text Eccl-1-7\">yet the sea is never full. <\/span><\/span><span class=\"text Eccl-1-7\">To the place the streams come from, <\/span><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"text Eccl-1-7\">there they return again.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><span id=\"en-NIV-17324\" class=\"text Eccl-1-8\"><sup class=\"versenum\">8&nbsp;<\/sup>All things are wearisome, <\/span><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"text Eccl-1-8\">more than one can say. <\/span><\/span><span class=\"text Eccl-1-8\">The eye never has enough of seeing, <\/span><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"text Eccl-1-8\">nor the ear its fill of hearing.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Generations (v.4) \u2014 People are born and people die but the earth stays the same. This shows the brevity of life.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The sun &#8220;hurries&#8221; back to where it rises (v.5). To Solomon, it seemed even the sun itself was always pushing to achieve but never accomplishing anything.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The wind (v.6) and the waters (v.7) always seem to be going somewhere but ultimately don&#8217;t get anywhere they haven&#8217;t been time and time before.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Solomon uses the sun, wind, and streams to symbolize how man is always trying to accomplish something but only repeats himself constantly. There is no completion or satisfaction.
