{"id":9098,"date":"2025-01-14T13:42:51","date_gmt":"2025-01-14T19:42:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/versebyverse.carpelibra.org\/?p=9098"},"modified":"2025-01-14T13:42:51","modified_gmt":"2025-01-14T19:42:51","slug":"mark-131-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/versebyverse.carpelibra.org\/?p=9098","title":{"rendered":"Mark 13:1-2"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3 class=\"chapter-2\"><em><span class=\"text Mark-13-1\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><span class=\"chapternum\">1 <\/span>Then as He went out of the temple, one of His disciples said to Him, \u201cTeacher, see what manner of stones and what buildings are here!\u201d<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3><em><span id=\"en-NKJV-24720\" class=\"text Mark-13-2\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><sup class=\"versenum\">2\u00a0<\/sup>And Jesus answered and said to him, <span class=\"woj\">\u201cDo you see these great buildings?<\/span> <span class=\"woj\">Not one stone shall be left upon another, that shall not be thrown down.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3>Also found in <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><a style=\"color: #ff0000;\" href=\"https:\/\/versebyverse.carpelibra.org\/?p=3239\">Matthew 24:1-2<\/a><\/span> and Luke 21:5-7.<\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #008000;\">Matthew&#8217;s account of the afternoon&#8217;s events includes a significant statement just prior to their exit from the Temple: &#8220;Behold your house is left unto you desolate&#8221; (<a href=\"https:\/\/versebyverse.carpelibra.org\/?p=3237\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Matthew 23:38<\/span><\/a> as quoted from Jeremiah 12:7). Thus [the disciples] probably wondered why such beautiful buildings would be abandoned. \u2014 KJBC, page 1255.<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">__________<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #008000;\">The word &#8220;buildings&#8221; refers to the mass of separate edifices, enclosures, colonnades, halls, sanctuaries, composing the Temple enclosure. Some of the stones were massive, weighing over one hundred tons. \u2014 Wuest, page 244.<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">__________<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #008000;\">thrown down (v.2) \u2014 literally, &#8220;to loose down.&#8221; It speaks of a gradual demolition of the Temple, such as took place when the Romans captured Jerusalem in A.D. 70, and destroyed the Temple. Our Lord&#8217;s prediction was fulfilled in exact detail. Only the foundation stones remain of all that magnificence.
