{"id":8850,"date":"2024-07-02T09:51:33","date_gmt":"2024-07-02T15:51:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/versebyverse.carpelibra.org\/?p=8850"},"modified":"2024-07-03T15:10:29","modified_gmt":"2024-07-03T21:10:29","slug":"mark-135-39","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/versebyverse.carpelibra.org\/?p=8850","title":{"rendered":"Mark 1:35-39"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><em><span class=\"text Mark-1-35\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><sup class=\"versenum\">35\u00a0<\/sup>Now in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, He went out and departed to a solitary place; and there He prayed.<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3><em><span id=\"en-NKJV-24252\" class=\"text Mark-1-36\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><sup class=\"versenum\">36\u00a0<\/sup>And Simon and those who were with Him searched for Him.<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3><em><span id=\"en-NKJV-24253\" class=\"text Mark-1-37\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><sup class=\"versenum\">37\u00a0<\/sup>When they found Him, they said to Him, \u201cEveryone is looking for You.\u201d<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3><em><span id=\"en-NKJV-24254\" class=\"text Mark-1-38\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><sup class=\"versenum\">38\u00a0<\/sup>But He said to them, <span class=\"woj\">\u201cLet us go into the next towns, that I may preach there also, because<\/span> <span class=\"woj\">for this purpose I have come forth.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3><em><span id=\"en-NKJV-24255\" class=\"text Mark-1-39\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><sup class=\"versenum\">39\u00a0<\/sup>And He was preaching in their synagogues throughout all Galilee, and casting out demons.<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3>Also found in <a href=\"https:\/\/versebyverse.carpelibra.org\/?p=2717\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Matthew 4:23-24<\/span><\/a> and Luke 4:42-44.<\/h3>\n<h3>Although all the healing that took place the night before took place after the sun had set (after the Sabbath had ended), Jesus still got up long before dawn\u00a0 to pray. The morning watch was between 3-6 am. The Greek indicates that Jesus went out in the early part of that watch.<\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #008000;\">prayed (v.35) &#8212; A conscious direction of one&#8217;s prayer to God, and a consciousness on the part of the one praying, of god&#8217;s presence and attention. The verb is imperfect, and pictures Jesus as praying through the early morning hours. \u2014 Wuest, page 39.<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3>searched (v.36) = hunted Him down, pursued as one army pursued another (as in <a href=\"https:\/\/versebyverse.carpelibra.org\/?p=3891\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Psalm 23:6<\/span><\/a>). Simon looked for Jesus until he found Him, with the purpose of bringing Him back where the people were.<\/h3>\n<h3>Let us go (v.38) = Let us be going, and keep on going.<\/h3>\n<h3>towns (v38) = country towns, villages without walls<\/h3>\n<h3>I have come forth (v.38) &#8212; from Capernaum<\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #008000;\">This Servant made healing subordinate to preaching. He left Capernaum. Had He stayed there He would have established Himself as a Healer of Diseases.
