fathers in Egypt did not understand Your wonders;<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span class=\"text Ps-106-7\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\">They did not remember the multitude of Your mercies,<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span class=\"text Ps-106-7\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\">But rebelled by the sea\u2014the Red Sea.<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3 class=\"line\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><span id=\"en-NKJV-15660\" class=\"text Ps-106-8\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><sup class=\"versenum\">8\u00a0<\/sup>Nevertheless He saved them for His name\u2019s sake,<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span class=\"text Ps-106-8\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\">That He might make His mighty power known.<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3 class=\"line\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><span id=\"en-NKJV-15661\" class=\"text Ps-106-9\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><sup class=\"versenum\">9 <\/sup>He rebuked the Red Sea also, and it dried up;<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span class=\"text Ps-106-9\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\">So He led them through the depths,<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span class=\"text Ps-106-9\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\">As through the wilderness.<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3 class=\"line\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><span id=\"en-NKJV-15662\" class=\"text Ps-106-10\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><sup class=\"versenum\">10 <\/sup>He saved them from the hand of him who hated them,<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span class=\"text Ps-106-10\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\">And redeemed them from the hand of the enemy.<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3 class=\"line\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><span id=\"en-NKJV-15663\" class=\"text Ps-106-11\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><sup class=\"versenum\">11 <\/sup>The waters covered their enemies;<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span class=\"text Ps-106-11\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\">There was not one of them left.<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3 class=\"line\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><span id=\"en-NKJV-15664\" class=\"text Ps-106-12\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><sup class=\"versenum\">12 <\/sup>Then they believed His words;<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span class=\"text Ps-106-12\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\">They sang His praise.<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3 class=\"line\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><span id=\"en-NKJV-15665\" class=\"text Ps-106-13\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><sup class=\"versenum\">13\u00a0<\/sup>They soon forgot His works;<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span class=\"text Ps-106-13\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\">They did not wait for His counsel,<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3 class=\"line\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><span id=\"en-NKJV-15666\" class=\"text Ps-106-14\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><sup class=\"versenum\">14 <\/sup>But lusted exceedingly in the wilderness,<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span class=\"text Ps-106-14\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\">And tested God in the desert.<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3 class=\"line\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><span id=\"en-NKJV-15667\" class=\"text Ps-106-15\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><sup class=\"versenum\">15 <\/sup>And He gave them their request,<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span class=\"text Ps-106-15\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\">But sent leanness into their soul.<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3 class=\"line\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><span id=\"en-NKJV-15668\" class=\"text Ps-106-16\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><sup class=\"versenum\">16\u00a0<\/sup>When they envied Moses in the camp,<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span class=\"text Ps-106-16\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\">And Aaron the saint of the <span class=\"small-caps divine-name\">Lord<\/span>,<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3 class=\"line\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><span id=\"en-NKJV-15669\" class=\"text Ps-106-17\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><sup class=\"versenum\">17 <\/sup>The earth opened up and swallowed Dathan,<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span class=\"text Ps-106-17\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\">And covered the faction of Abiram.<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3 class=\"line\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><span id=\"en-NKJV-15670\" class=\"text Ps-106-18\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><sup class=\"versenum\">18 <\/sup>A fire was kindled in their company;<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span class=\"text Ps-106-18\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\">The flame burned up the wicked.<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3 class=\"line\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><span id=\"en-NKJV-15671\" class=\"text Ps-106-19\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><sup class=\"versenum\">19\u00a0<\/sup>They made a calf in Horeb,<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span class=\"text Ps-106-19\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\">And worshiped the molded image.<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3 class=\"line\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><span id=\"en-NKJV-15672\" class=\"text Ps-106-20\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><sup class=\"versenum\">20 <\/sup>Thus they changed their glory<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span class=\"text Ps-106-20\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Into the image of an ox that eats grass.<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3 class=\"line\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><span id=\"en-NKJV-15673\" class=\"text Ps-106-21\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><sup class=\"versenum\">21 <\/sup>They forgot God their Savior,<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span class=\"text Ps-106-21\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Who had done great things in Egypt,<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3 class=\"line\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><span id=\"en-NKJV-15674\" class=\"text Ps-106-22\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><sup class=\"versenum\">22 <\/sup>Wondrous works in the land of Ham,<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span class=\"text Ps-106-22\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Awesome things by the Red Sea.<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3 class=\"line\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><span id=\"en-NKJV-15675\" class=\"text Ps-106-23\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><sup class=\"versenum\">23 <\/sup>Therefore He said that He would destroy them,<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span class=\"text Ps-106-23\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Had not Moses His chosen one stood before Him in the breach,<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span class=\"text Ps-106-23\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\">To turn away His wrath, lest He destroy them.<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3 class=\"line\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><span id=\"en-NKJV-15676\" class=\"text Ps-106-24\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><sup class=\"versenum\">24\u00a0<\/sup>Then they despised the pleasant land;<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span class=\"text Ps-106-24\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\">They did not believe His word,<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3 class=\"line\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><span id=\"en-NKJV-15677\" class=\"text Ps-106-25\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><sup class=\"versenum\">25 <\/sup>But complained in their tents,<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span class=\"text Ps-106-25\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\">And did not heed the voice of the <span class=\"small-caps divine-name\">Lord<\/span>.<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3 class=\"line\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><span id=\"en-NKJV-15678\" class=\"text Ps-106-26\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><sup class=\"versenum\">26 <\/sup>Therefore He raised His hand in an oath against them,<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span class=\"text Ps-106-26\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\">To overthrow them in the wilderness,<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3 class=\"line\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><span id=\"en-NKJV-15679\" class=\"text Ps-106-27\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><sup class=\"versenum\">27 <\/sup>To overthrow their descendants among the nations,<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span class=\"text Ps-106-27\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\">And to scatter them in the lands.<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3 class=\"line\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><span id=\"en-NKJV-15680\" class=\"text Ps-106-28\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><sup class=\"versenum\">28\u00a0<\/sup>They joined themselves also to Baal of Peor,<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span class=\"text Ps-106-28\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\">And ate sacrifices made to the dead.<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3 class=\"line\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><span id=\"en-NKJV-15681\" class=\"text Ps-106-29\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><sup class=\"versenum\">29 <\/sup>Thus they provoked Him to anger with their deeds,<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span class=\"text Ps-106-29\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\">And the plague broke out among them.<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3 class=\"line\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><span id=\"en-NKJV-15682\" class=\"text Ps-106-30\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><sup class=\"versenum\">30 <\/sup>Then Phinehas stood up and intervened,<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span class=\"text Ps-106-30\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\">And the plague was stopped.<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3 class=\"line\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><span id=\"en-NKJV-15683\" class=\"text Ps-106-31\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><sup class=\"versenum\">31 <\/sup>And that was accounted to him for righteousness<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span class=\"text Ps-106-31\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\">To all generations forevermore.<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3 class=\"line\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><span id=\"en-NKJV-15684\" class=\"text Ps-106-32\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><sup class=\"versenum\">32\u00a0<\/sup>They angered Him also at the waters of strife,<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span class=\"text Ps-106-32\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\">So that it went ill with Moses on account of them;<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3 class=\"line\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><span id=\"en-NKJV-15685\" class=\"text Ps-106-33\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><sup class=\"versenum\">33 <\/sup>Because they rebelled against His Spirit,<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span class=\"text Ps-106-33\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\">So that he spoke rashly with his lips.<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3 class=\"line\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><span id=\"en-NKJV-15686\" class=\"text Ps-106-34\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><sup class=\"versenum\">34\u00a0<\/sup>They did not destroy the peoples,<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span class=\"text Ps-106-34\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Concerning whom the <span class=\"small-caps divine-name\">Lord<\/span> had commanded them,<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3 class=\"line\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><span id=\"en-NKJV-15687\" class=\"text Ps-106-35\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><sup class=\"versenum\">35 <\/sup>But they mingled with the Gentiles<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span class=\"text Ps-106-35\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\">And learned their works;<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3 class=\"line\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><span id=\"en-NKJV-15688\" class=\"text Ps-106-36\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><sup class=\"versenum\">36 <\/sup>They served their idols,<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span class=\"text Ps-106-36\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Which became a snare to them.<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3 class=\"line\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><span id=\"en-NKJV-15689\" class=\"text Ps-106-37\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><sup class=\"versenum\">37 <\/sup>They even sacrificed their sons<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span class=\"text Ps-106-37\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\">And their daughters to demons,<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3 class=\"line\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><span id=\"en-NKJV-15690\" class=\"text Ps-106-38\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><sup class=\"versenum\">38 <\/sup>And shed innocent blood,<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span class=\"text Ps-106-38\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\">The blood of their sons and daughters,<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span class=\"text Ps-106-38\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan;<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span class=\"text Ps-106-38\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\">And the land was polluted with blood.<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3 class=\"line\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><span id=\"en-NKJV-15691\" class=\"text Ps-106-39\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><sup class=\"versenum\">39 <\/sup>Thus they were defiled by their own works,<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span class=\"text Ps-106-39\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\">And played the harlot by their own deeds.<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3 class=\"line\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><span id=\"en-NKJV-15692\" class=\"text Ps-106-40\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><sup class=\"versenum\">40\u00a0<\/sup>Therefore the wrath of the <span class=\"small-caps divine-name\">Lord<\/span> was kindled against His people,<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span class=\"text Ps-106-40\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\">So that He abhorred His own inheritance.<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3 class=\"line\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><span id=\"en-NKJV-15693\" class=\"text Ps-106-41\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><sup class=\"versenum\">41 <\/sup>And He gave them into the hand of the Gentiles,<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span class=\"text Ps-106-41\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\">And those who hated them ruled over them.<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3 class=\"line\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><span id=\"en-NKJV-15694\" class=\"text Ps-106-42\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><sup class=\"versenum\">42 <\/sup>Their enemies also oppressed them,<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span class=\"text Ps-106-42\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\">And they were brought into subjection under their hand.<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3 class=\"line\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><span id=\"en-NKJV-15695\" class=\"text Ps-106-43\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><sup class=\"versenum\">43 <\/sup>Many times He delivered them;<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span class=\"text Ps-106-43\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\">But they rebelled in their counsel,<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span class=\"text Ps-106-43\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\">And were brought low for their iniquity.<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3 class=\"line\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><span id=\"en-NKJV-15696\" class=\"text Ps-106-44\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><sup class=\"versenum\">44\u00a0<\/sup>Nevertheless He regarded their affliction,<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span class=\"text Ps-106-44\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\">When He heard their cry;<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3 class=\"line\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><span id=\"en-NKJV-15697\" class=\"text Ps-106-45\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><sup class=\"versenum\">45 <\/sup>And for their sake He remembered His covenant,<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span class=\"text Ps-106-45\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\">And relented according to the multitude of His mercies.<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3 class=\"line\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><span id=\"en-NKJV-15698\" class=\"text Ps-106-46\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><sup class=\"versenum\">46 <\/sup>He also made them to be pitied<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span class=\"text Ps-106-46\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\">By all those who carried them away captive.<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3 class=\"line\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><span id=\"en-NKJV-15699\" class=\"text Ps-106-47\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><sup class=\"versenum\">47\u00a0<\/sup>Save us, O <span class=\"small-caps divine-name\">Lord<\/span> our God,<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span class=\"text Ps-106-47\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\">And gather us from among the Gentiles,<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span class=\"text Ps-106-47\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\">To give thanks to Your holy name,<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span class=\"text Ps-106-47\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\">To triumph in Your praise.<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<div class=\"poetry top-1\">\n<h3 class=\"line\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><span id=\"en-NKJV-15700\" class=\"text Ps-106-48\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><sup class=\"versenum\">48\u00a0<\/sup>Blessed be the <span class=\"small-caps divine-name\">Lord<\/span> God of Israel<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span class=\"text Ps-106-48\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\">From everlasting to everlasting!<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span class=\"text Ps-106-48\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\">And let all the people say, \u201cAmen!\u201d<br \/>\nPraise the Lord!<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #008000;\">Though the Hebrew text of this psalm has no heading, evidence for its partial attribution to David is attested by (1) the presentation of verses 1 and 47-48a in 1 Chronicles 16:34-36 (following vs.1-15 of <a href=\"https:\/\/versebyverse.carpelibra.org\/?p=8158\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Psalm 105<\/span><\/a>) as part of a psalm of thanksgiving ascribed to David, and (2) the attribution to David of verse 38 in Jewish tradition. At the same time, verses 40-47 bear the hallmarks of an exilic perspective, and quite likely represent the words of a later prophet that were added at a later point so as to continue (and hence further emphasize) the picture of God&#8217;s unbroken chastisement of\u2014and hence lovingkindness towards\u2014His people (which &#8220;picture&#8221; is still further extended by Paul in the New Testament period, in <a href=\"https:\/\/versebyverse.carpelibra.org\/?p=422\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Romans 11:28-29<\/span><\/a>). \u2014 Wechsler, pages 251-252.<\/span><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">__________<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #008000;\">The basis of God&#8217;s faithfulness is not, as is sometimes thought, His covenants\u2014as if binding Him to do (or not do) something whether He wishes it so or not\u2014but rather His character, of which His actions and covenants are in turn a consistent and harmonious <em>expression<\/em>. The psalmist thus begins by focusing on those aspects of God&#8217;s character that undergird his faithfulness to Israel\u2014i.e.: His goodness and His lovingkindness. It is on the basis of these two divine attributes, both of which &#8220;operate&#8221; irrespective of human merit, that god chose Israel as &#8220;a people for His own possession&#8221; (Deuteronomy 7:6)\u2014as emphasized by the four different epithets applied to Israel in vs.4-5 (i.e., &#8220;they people,&#8221; &#8220;Thy chosen ones,&#8221; &#8220;Thy nation,&#8221; and &#8220;Thine inheritance&#8221;).<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #008000;\">The expression of God&#8217;s faithfulness\u2014which is, in essence, simply the inevitable expression of His goodness and lovingkindness once bestowed\u2014constitute the bulk of this psalm and focuses on the ongoing cycle of God&#8217;s chastisement of sinful Israel. \u2014 Wechsler, pages 252-253.<\/span><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">__________<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #008000;\">The answer to the question of verse 2 is, that no one can exhaustively analyse, understand, and show the meaning and purpose of Divine actions, or adequately praise such actions. But Messiah can, and He will show forth all God&#8217;s praise (<a href=\"https:\/\/versebyverse.carpelibra.org\/?p=3759\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Psalm 9:14<\/span><\/a>).<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #008000;\">But a spiritual intelligence will recognise Divine action and bow in worship because of such action (v.3). That intelligence results only from subjection of mind to the Scriptures, and from an unvarying life of righteous conduct. A conscious salvation (v.4) enables the believer &#8220;to see,&#8221; &#8220;to rejoice&#8221; and &#8220;to glory&#8221; (v.5). \u2014 Williams, page 380.<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3>leanness (v.15) = wasting disease (spiritually)<\/h3>\n<h3>They envied Moses and Aaron (v.16) \u2014 Numbers 16:3-7<\/h3>\n<h3>He said He would destroy them (v.23) \u2014\u00a0 Exodus 32:10-14<\/h3>\n<h3>despised the pleasant land (v.24) \u2014 Numbers 13:32; 14:41.<\/h3>\n<h3>They joined themselves unto Baal-peor (v.28) \u2014 This was the result of the suggestions of Balaam to Balak (Numbers 25:3; Revelation 2:14).<\/h3>\n<h3>plague (v.29) \u2014 Numbers 25:7-8<\/h3>\n<h3>mingled with the Gentiles (v.35) \u2014 In spite of Joshua&#8217;s warning (Joshua 23:12-13).<\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #008000;\">The psalmist turned to the unfaithfulness of the people in the land (vs.32-48). This he begins by referring to Moses&#8217; exclusion. This reference seems to be a remarkable recognition of the strength of the man. The fair deduction from the setting of the story seems to be that if he had entered with them, some of the things might have been different.<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #008000;\">The story of their failure in the land is tragic, but there is evident a recognition on the part of the singer of a poetic justice in their calamity. Moses was excluded because of his failure to represent God to His people, but that failure was provoked by their sin; and they , passing into the land without him, were from the beginning in greater or less degree corrupted. Their initial sin was that of disobedience, either on the ground of pity, or for purpose of compromise. The result was that they descended to all the abominations of which the peoples were guilty. \u2014 Morgan, page 200.<\/span><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">__________<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #008000;\">Like Moses in <a href=\"https:\/\/versebyverse.carpelibra.org\/?p=7131\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Psalm 90<\/span><\/a>, so too the present psalmist concludes by focusing on the ultimate goal of God&#8217;s chastisement\u2014i.e., not only that Israel might be restored to their land and live therein in a state of outward blessing and abundance, but that they might view such as the ideally intended expression of their heavenly Father&#8217;s goodness and lovingkindness (v.1) towards them and, in response, give thanks to His holy name and glory in His praise.
