{"id":770,"date":"2010-01-28T05:00:30","date_gmt":"2010-01-28T11:00:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/versebyverse.carpelibra.org\/?p=770"},"modified":"2022-01-18T10:55:06","modified_gmt":"2022-01-18T16:55:06","slug":"john-1133-38","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/versebyverse.carpelibra.org\/?p=770","title":{"rendered":"John 11:33-38"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><sup>33<\/sup> Therefore, when Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who came with her weeping, He groaned in the spirit and was troubled.<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3><em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><sup class=\"versenum\">34<\/sup> And He said, \u201cWhere have you laid him?\u201d They said to Him, \u201cLord, come and see.\u201d <\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3><em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><sup class=\"versenum\">35<\/sup> Jesus wept.<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3><em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><sup class=\"versenum\">36<\/sup> Then the Jews said, \u201cSee how He loved him!\u201d <\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3><em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><sup class=\"versenum\">37<\/sup> And some of them said, \u201cCould not this Man, who opened the eyes of the blind, also have kept this man from dying?\u201d<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3><em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><sup>38<\/sup> Then Jesus, again groaning in Himself, came to the tomb. It was a cave, and a stone lay against it.<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3>troubles (v. 33) = The outward expression of His inward emotion \u2014 <em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses &#8230; (<a href=\"https:\/\/versebyverse.carpelibra.org\/?p=1722\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Hebrews 4:15<\/span><\/a>).<\/span><\/em> Jesus was sympathizing with the sorrow of His friends.<\/h3>\n<h3>weeping (v. 33) = loud lament<\/h3>\n<h3>Where have you laid him?
