13<\/sup> They brought him who formerly was blind to the Pharisees.<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n

14<\/sup> Now it was a Sabbath when Jesus made the clay and opened his eyes.<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n

15<\/sup> Then the Pharisees also asked him again how he had received his sight. He said to them, \u201cHe put clay on my eyes, and I washed, and I see.\u201d <\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n

16<\/sup> Therefore some of the Pharisees said, \u201cThis Man is not from God, because He does not keep the Sabbath.\u201d Others said, \u201cHow can a man who is a sinner do such signs?\u201d And there was a division among them. <\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n

17<\/sup> They said to the blind man again, \u201cWhat do you say about Him because He opened your eyes?\u201d He said, \u201cHe is a prophet.\u201d<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n

By example (v. 14), Jesus showed that works of necessity and mercy were allowed on the Sabbath.<\/h3>\n

In their arrogance (v. 16), the Pharisees believed Jesus could not be from God because He broke laws they<\/u> had created.<\/h3>\n

All divisions are not necessarily bad, neither is unity always good (v. 16).<\/h3>\n

They couldn’t deny that a miracle had occurred (v. 17)<\/h3>\n

The healed man still hadn’t seen Jesus. He knew the Pharisees hated Jesus, but stood strong in his growing faith.<\/h3>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
