{"id":693,"date":"2009-10-24T05:00:14","date_gmt":"2009-10-24T11:00:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/versebyverse.carpelibra.org\/?p=693"},"modified":"2022-01-14T13:22:45","modified_gmt":"2022-01-14T19:22:45","slug":"john-744-53","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/versebyverse.carpelibra.org\/?p=693","title":{"rendered":"John 7:44-53"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><sup class=\"versenum\">44<\/sup> Now some of them wanted to take Him, but no one laid hands on Him.<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3><em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><sup class=\"versenum\">45<\/sup> Then the officers came to the chief priests and Pharisees, who said to them, \u201cWhy have you not brought Him?\u201d <\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3><em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><sup class=\"versenum\">46<\/sup> The officers answered, \u201cNo man ever spoke like this Man!\u201d <\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3><em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><sup class=\"versenum\">47<\/sup> Then the Pharisees answered them, \u201cAre you also deceived?<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3><em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><sup class=\"versenum\">48<\/sup> Have any of the rulers or the Pharisees believed in Him?<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3><em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><sup class=\"versenum\">49<\/sup> But this crowd that does not know the law is accursed.\u201d <\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3><em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><sup class=\"versenum\">50<\/sup> Nicodemus (he who came to Jesus by night, being one of them) said to them, <\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3><em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><sup class=\"versenum\">51<\/sup> \u201cDoes our law judge a man before it hears him and knows what he is doing?\u201d <\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3><em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><sup class=\"versenum\">52<\/sup> They answered and said to him, \u201cAre you also from Galilee? Search and look, for no prophet has arisen out of Galilee.\u201d <\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3><em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><sup class=\"versenum\">53<\/sup> And everyone went to his own house.<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3>The officers sent to arrest Jesus were so impressed by His words that they couldn&#8217;t bring themselves to carry out their orders. It wasn&#8217;t Jesus&#8217; miracles that impressed the officers, but His Words.<\/h3>\n<h3>Have any rulers &#8230; (v.47) \u2014 Surely (they said) if Jesus was really from God, we would have believed in Him.
