15 The woman saith unto Him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw. <\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n

16 Jesus saith unto her, Go, call thy husband, and come hither. <\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n

17 The woman answered and said, I have no husband. Jesus said unto her, Thou hast well said, I have no husband: <\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n

18 For thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: in that saidst thou truly. <\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n

19 The woman saith unto Him, Sir, I perceive that Thou art a prophet.<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n

give me this water (v.15) \u2014 She responded, but she still didn’t understand. She thought Jesus was talking about magical, but physical, water.<\/h3>\n

Jesus stopped talking about the gift of grace and began showing her her need for a Savior by bringing out her sin. He knew her sin, but still He told her to come.<\/h3>\n

Go … and come here (v.16) \u2014 Go confront your sinfulness and come to Jesus in your true character, a self-confessed sinner. He offered truth and<\/u> grace.<\/h3>\n

She still didn’t know who He was, but she knew He had divine knowledge (v.19).<\/h3>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
