{"id":514,"date":"2009-04-05T06:00:12","date_gmt":"2009-04-05T12:00:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/1002things.com\/?p=514"},"modified":"2022-01-07T18:26:46","modified_gmt":"2022-01-08T00:26:46","slug":"john-13-4","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/versebyverse.carpelibra.org\/?p=514","title":{"rendered":"John 1:3-4"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">3 All things were made by Him; and without Him was not any thing made that was made.<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3><em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">4 In Him was life; and the life was the light of men.<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3>made by Him \u2014 this includes the new creation of believers. <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>For by Him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by Him, and for Him (<a href=\"https:\/\/versebyverse.carpelibra.org\/?p=2050\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Colossians 1:16<\/span><\/a>).<\/em><\/span><\/h3>\n<h3>life \u2014 <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life (1 John 5:12).<\/em><\/span><\/h3>\n<h3>life = life of God (<em>zoe<\/em>) but also all life as distinct from natural life (<em>psuche<\/em>)<\/h3>\n<h3>light \u2014 to reveal Christ&#8217;s identity and expose sin. His life either exposes or illuminates in all cases.
