6\u00a0<\/sup>Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith;<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n

7\u00a0<\/sup>or ministry, let us use it in our ministering; he who teaches, in teaching;<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n

8\u00a0<\/sup>he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n

prophecy = forth-telling (including revealing future events). This gift ended when the Bible was complete (1 Corinthians 13<\/span><\/a>). Prophecy was a direct message from God and always in accord with earlier revelations. Teaching, in contrast, is based on the revelation revealed in Scripture.<\/h3>\n

according to the proportion (see verse 3<\/span><\/a>) \u2014 in line with what grace God has given and with what faith it is received<\/h3>\n

ministry \u2014 service of any type \u2014 voluntary in contrast to slavery.<\/h3>\n

exhortation \u2014 appeal to the conscience and the heart<\/h3>\n

liberality \u2014 singleness of heart<\/h3>\n

leads \u2014 be over, stand in front<\/h3>\n

mercy \u2014 relieving distress<\/h3>\n
