Is it not even you in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at His coming?<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3><em><span id=\"en-NKJV-29591\" class=\"text 1Thess-2-20\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><sup class=\"versenum\">20\u00a0<\/sup>For you are our glory and joy.<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3>taken away from you (v.17) = left as an orphan, separated from, left defenseless without a father&#8217;s care and affection<\/h3>\n<h3>heart (v.17) \u2014 referring, by metonymy, to Paul&#8217;s thoughts<\/h3>\n<h3>see your face (v.17) \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/versebyverse.carpelibra.org\/?p=4215\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">1 Thessalonians 3:10<\/span><\/a><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #008000;\">I, Paul (v.18) \u2014 The three co-workers had separated (<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><a style=\"color: #ff0000;\" href=\"http:\/\/versebyverse.carpelibra.org\/?p=1679\">Acts 17:14<\/a><\/span>); Timothy had visited Thessalonica again (<a href=\"https:\/\/versebyverse.carpelibra.org\/?p=4210\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">1 Thessalonians 3:6<\/span><\/a>), and, probably Silas had accompanied him (<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><a style=\"color: #ff0000;\" href=\"http:\/\/versebyverse.carpelibra.org\/?p=1724\">Acts 18:5<\/a><\/span>), or had joined him there. \u2014 Vine, page 42.<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3>Satan hindered us (v.18) \u2014 It may have been that Paul couldn&#8217;t return to Thessalonica because of the security taken from Jason, which may have included a guarantee that Paul would not return to the city (<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><a style=\"color: #ff0000;\" href=\"http:\/\/versebyverse.carpelibra.org\/?p=1676\">Acts 17:9<\/a><\/span>).
