Or do you not know what the Scripture says of Elijah, how he pleads with God against Israel, saying,<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3><em><span id=\"en-NKJV-28213\" class=\"text Rom-11-3\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><sup class=\"versenum\">3\u00a0<\/sup><span class=\"oblique\">\u201c<\/span><span class=\"small-caps divine-name\">Lord<\/span><span class=\"oblique\">, they have killed Your prophets and torn down Your altars, and I alone am left, and they seek my life\u201d<\/span>?<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3><em><span id=\"en-NKJV-28214\" class=\"text Rom-11-4\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><sup class=\"versenum\">4\u00a0<\/sup>But what does the divine response say to him? <span class=\"oblique\">\u201cI have reserved for Myself seven thousand men who have not bowed the knee to Baal.<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3>Answer 2 \u2014 God has foreknowledge and knew how Israel would respond, but He still made promises.<\/h3>\n<h3>Answer 3 \u2014 God always preserves a remnant of believers (1 Kings 19:10, 14, 18).<\/h3>\n<h3>&#8220;for Myself&#8221; \u2014 added to the original quote by Paul to emphasize God&#8217;s power and will in election.<\/h3>\n<h3>cast away \u2014 Rejected, thrust from ones self.<\/h3>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>2\u00a0God has not cast away His people whom He foreknew.
