20\u00a0<\/sup>But Isaiah is very bold and says: <\/span>\u201cI was found by those who did not seek Me; <\/span><\/span>I was made manifest to those who did not ask for Me.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n

21\u00a0<\/sup>But to Israel he says: <\/span>\u201cAll day long I have stretched out My hands t<\/span><\/span>o a disobedient and contrary people.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n

Verse 20 \u2014 Isaiah 65:1 \u2014 I am sought of them that asked not for me; I am found of them that sought me not: I said, Behold me, behold me, unto a nation that was not called by my name.<\/em><\/span><\/h3>\n

Isaiah is very bold. He prophesied at the risk of his life.<\/h3>\n

“to Israel” \u2014 should be “with reference to Israel”<\/h3>\n

Verse 21 \u2014 Isaiah 65:2 \u2014 I have spread out my hands all the day unto a rebellious people, which walketh in a way that was not good, after their own thoughts.<\/em><\/span><\/h3>\n

disobedient \u2014 refuse to be persuaded<\/h3>\n

God was patient and entreated Israel, and they heard and understood, but responded with willful ignorance.<\/h3>\n

all day long \u2014 the dispensation of Law<\/h3>\n

The four “buts” (vs. 18, 19<\/span><\/a>, 20, 21) are for answers to Israel’s possible objections<\/h3>\n

Isaiah 65:1-2 is referring to Israel, so Romans 10:20-21 must also be referring to Israel and to to Gentiles.<\/h3>\n
