For Isaiah says, <span class=\"oblique\">\u201c<\/span><span class=\"small-caps divine-name\">Lord<\/span><span class=\"oblique\">, who has believed our report?\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3 class=\"first-line-none top-1\"><em><span id=\"en-NKJV-28206\" class=\"text Rom-10-17\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><sup class=\"versenum\">17\u00a0<\/sup>So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3>Quote in verse 16, about the coming Messiah, is from Isaiah 53:1 \u2014 <em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3>Report (verse 16) and hearing (verse 17) come from the same Greek word. It indicates that the man giving the message heard it from somebody else \u2014 &#8220;a message heard.&#8221; Faith doesn&#8217;t come from hearing but from what is heard \u2014 the word of Christ.<\/h3>\n<h3>The prophet Isaiah foretold the unbelief of the Jews, but God puts the responsibility on their shoulders.<\/h3>\n<h3>word of God \u2014 should be &#8220;word of Christ&#8221;<\/h3>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>16\u00a0But they have not all obeyed the gospel.
