{"id":398,"date":"2008-08-14T21:00:05","date_gmt":"2008-08-15T03:00:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/1002things.com\/?p=398"},"modified":"2022-03-23T12:34:31","modified_gmt":"2022-03-23T18:34:31","slug":"romans-927-29","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/versebyverse.carpelibra.org\/?p=398","title":{"rendered":"Romans 9:27-29"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3 class=\"line\"><em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><span id=\"en-NKJV-28183\" class=\"text Rom-9-27\"><sup class=\"versenum\">27\u00a0<\/sup>Isaiah also cries out concerning Israel: <\/span><span class=\"text Rom-9-27\"><span class=\"oblique\">\u201cThough the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, t<\/span><\/span><span class=\"text Rom-9-27\"><span class=\"oblique\">he remnant will be saved.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3 class=\"line\"><em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><span id=\"en-NKJV-28184\" class=\"text Rom-9-28\"><sup class=\"versenum\">28 <\/sup><span class=\"oblique\">For<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"oblique\">He will finish the work and cut<\/span> it <span class=\"oblique\">short in righteousness, b<\/span><\/span><span class=\"text Rom-9-28\"><span class=\"oblique\">ecause the<\/span> <span class=\"small-caps divine-name\">Lord<\/span> <span class=\"oblique\">will make a short work upon the earth.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3 class=\"line\"><em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><span id=\"en-NKJV-28185\" class=\"text Rom-9-29\"><sup class=\"versenum\">29\u00a0<\/sup>And as Isaiah said before: <\/span><span class=\"text Rom-9-29\"><span class=\"oblique\">\u201cUnless the<\/span> <span class=\"small-caps divine-name\">Lord<\/span> <span class=\"oblique\">of<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"oblique\">Sabaoth had left us a seed, w<\/span><\/span><span class=\"text Rom-9-29\"><span class=\"oblique\">e would have become like Sodom, a<\/span><\/span><span class=\"text Rom-9-29\"><span class=\"oblique\">nd we would have been made like Gomorrah.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3>Verse 27-28\u00a0quote from Isaiah 10:22-23 \u2014 <em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">For though thy people Israel be as the sand of the sea, yet a remnant of them shall return: the consumption decreed shall overflow with righteousness. For the Lord GOD of hosts shall make a consumption, even determined, in the midst of all the land.<\/span><\/em> Referring to the coming Assyrian captivity and end times.<\/h3>\n<h3>work (v.28) \u2014 should be &#8220;word&#8221; (Logos) \u2014 what the Lord fulfills<\/h3>\n<h3>Verse 28 \u2014 God will cut short the time to preserve the remnant.
