23\u00a0<\/sup>and that He might make known the riches of His glory on the vessels of mercy, which He had prepared beforehand for glory,<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n

24\u00a0<\/sup>even us whom He called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles?<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n

Willing to show His wrath \u2014 Having the will, sovereignty<\/h3>\n

Make His power known \u2014 showing His character and authority<\/h3>\n

Fitted (middle voice) \u2014 God isn’t doing the fitting. The action is done by the persons themselves.<\/h3>\n

Destruction \u2014 not of being but of well-being, not annihilation but ruin as to carrying out its purpose.<\/h3>\n

Riches of His glory = God’s grace to believers<\/h3>\n

Mercy \u2014 pity in action. God’s salvation is provided for all but only those who receive it obtain mercy.<\/h3>\n

Prepared \u2014 by Christ on earth for heavenly glory<\/h3>\n

Verse 24 shows Paul is speaking of Jews and Gentiles here, not specifically of individuals<\/h3>\n

If a man goes to hell it is because he fitted himself or it. If he goes to heaven, it is because God fitted him for it.<\/h3>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
