13\u00a0<\/sup>Send Zenas the lawyer and Apollos on their journey with haste, that they may lack nothing.<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n

14\u00a0<\/sup>And let our people also learn to maintain good works, to meet urgent needs, that they may not be unfruitful.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n

Tychicus (v.12) \u2014 Tychicus was a native of the province of Asia and perhaps of Ephesus, Acts 20:4<\/span><\/a>. He accompanied Paul on his return from his third journey, and Paul gave a high commendation of him in Ephesians 6:21<\/span><\/a> and Colossians 4:7<\/a><\/span>. That he was a companion of the apostle in his imprisonment we may gather from 2 Timothy 4:12<\/a><\/span>. If he was sent to Ephesus at this time, Artemas may have been the one sent to Crete. \u2014 Vine, page 247.<\/span><\/h3>\n

be diligent (v.12) = do your best \u2014 translated “study” in 2 Timothy 2:15<\/a><\/span> in the KJV<\/h3>\n

lawyer (v.13) \u2014 probably an expert in Mosaic law<\/h3>\n

Apollos (v.13) \u2014 Acts 18:24<\/a><\/span>; 1 Corinthians 3:4-6<\/a><\/span>; 16:12<\/a><\/span><\/h3>\n

Verse 14 may refer to the types of careers that Christians choose, or to individual works that they do as opportunity arises, or to giving to those in ministry (such as Zenas and Apollos in v.13).<\/h3>\n
