Amen.<\/span><\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3>guard (v.20) \u2014 in the military sense<\/h3>\n<h3>what was committed to your trust (v.20) = lit. &#8220;a putting with,&#8221; to place alongside of someone \u2014 a deposit<\/h3>\n<h3>avoiding (v.20) = turning away, shunning, turning aside so as to avoid meeting<\/h3>\n<h3>profane (v.20) &#8211; unhallowed, not set apart to God, common, secular<\/h3>\n<h3>babblings (v.20) = empty sounds, empty voices<\/h3>\n<h3>falsely called (v.20) = falsely named<\/h3>\n<h3>contradictions (v.20) = antithesis = lit. &#8220;to place against&#8221; \u2014 arguments and objections against a certain proposition<\/h3>\n<h3>knowledge (v.20) = &#8220;the&#8221; knowledge \u2014 perhaps referring to Gnosticism, but could also include legalistic Jewish influences and any doctrine contrary to Paul&#8217;s<\/h3>\n<h3>professing (v.21) = proclaiming<\/h3>\n<h3>strayed (v.21) = missed the mark<\/h3>\n<h3>grace (v.21) = &#8220;the&#8221; grace<\/h3>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>20\u00a0O Timothy!
