15\u00a0<\/sup>If the foot should say, \u201cBecause I am not a hand, I am not of the body,\u201d is it therefore not of the body?<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n

16\u00a0<\/sup>And if the ear should say, \u201cBecause I am not an eye, I am not of the body,\u201d is it therefore not of the body?<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n

17\u00a0<\/sup>If the whole body\u00a0were\u00a0an eye, where\u00a0would be\u00a0the hearing? If the whole\u00a0were\u00a0hearing, where\u00a0would be\u00a0the smelling?<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n

18\u00a0<\/sup>But now God has set the members, each one of them, in the body just as He pleased.<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n

19\u00a0<\/sup>And if they were all one member, where\u00a0would\u00a0the body\u00a0be?<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n

20\u00a0<\/sup>But now indeed\u00a0there are\u00a0many members, yet one body.<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n

21\u00a0<\/sup>And the eye cannot say to the hand, \u201cI have no need of you\u201d; nor again the head to the feet, \u201cI have no need of you.\u201d<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n

The point in verses 15-16 is that no member of the body should look down on his own function or covet the function of others.<\/h3>\n

Every one of them (v.18) \u2014 unity but not uniformity<\/h3>\n

Dissatisfaction with one’s place in the body is dissatisfaction with God’s plan and will (v.18).<\/h3>\n
