{"id":1933,"date":"2012-01-31T05:00:04","date_gmt":"2012-01-31T11:00:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/versebyverse.carpelibra.org\/?p=1933"},"modified":"2022-02-25T01:52:04","modified_gmt":"2022-02-25T07:52:04","slug":"acts-226-11","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/versebyverse.carpelibra.org\/?p=1933","title":{"rendered":"Acts 22:6-11"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><sup id=\"en-NKJV-27707\">6<\/sup> \u201cNow it happened, as I journeyed and came near Damascus at about noon, suddenly a great light from heaven shone around me.<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3><em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><sup id=\"en-NKJV-27708\">7<\/sup> And I fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to me, \u2018Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?\u2019<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3><em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><sup id=\"en-NKJV-27709\">8<\/sup> So I answered, \u2018Who are You, Lord?\u2019 And He said to me, \u2018I am Jesus of Nazareth, whom you are persecuting.\u2019<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3><em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><sup id=\"en-NKJV-27710\">9<\/sup> \u201cAnd those who were with me indeed saw the light and were afraid,but they did not hear the voice of Him who spoke to me.<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3><em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><sup id=\"en-NKJV-27711\">10<\/sup> So I said, \u2018What shall I do, Lord?\u2019 And the Lord said to me, \u2018Arise and go into Damascus, and there you will be told all things which are appointed for you to do.\u2019<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3><em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><sup id=\"en-NKJV-27712\">11<\/sup> And since I could not see for the glory of that light, being led by the hand of those who were with me, I came into Damascus. <\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3>This is Paul&#8217;s personal account of his conversion which was earlier given in Luke&#8217;s words in <a href=\"https:\/\/versebyverse.carpelibra.org\/?p=1458\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Acts 9:3-8<\/span><\/a>.<\/h3>\n<h3>great light (v.6) \u2014 brighter than the sun (<a href=\"https:\/\/versebyverse.carpelibra.org\/?p=1997\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Acts 26:13<\/span><\/a>) \u2014 evident especially as it was noon<\/h3>\n<h3>heard not the voice (v.9) \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/versebyverse.carpelibra.org\/?p=1458\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Acts 9:7<\/span><\/a> says that Paul&#8217;s companions heard the voice.<\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #008000;\">Paul heard a voice speaking to him in definite and articulate words; whereas those who traveled with him only heard the sound of a voice but caught no words.
