2 Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the mutilation!<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n

3 For we are the circumcision, who worship God in the Spirit, rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n

finally (v.1) = lit. “for the rest” \u2014 what remains to be said, furthermore<\/h3>\n

same things (v.1) \u2014 probably referring to topics he’d already covered and was about to return to \u2014 teaching by repetition<\/h3>\n

safe (v.1) \u2014 to safeguard them<\/h3>\n

dogs (v.2) \u2014 prowling false teachers \u2014 wild dogs without an owner<\/h3>\n

evil workers (v.2) \u2014 perhaps “workers” refers to those who preached works necessary for salvation<\/h3>\n

mutilation (v.2) \u2014 the concision = cutting off \u2014 the sign without the substance, the law with no heart for God<\/h3>\n

we are the circumcision (v.3) \u2014 emphasis on “we” \u2014 spiritual circumcision (Colossians 2:11<\/span><\/a>)<\/h3>\n

worship (v.3) = render service<\/h3>\n

God in the Spirit (v.3) \u2014 should be “by the Spirit of God” \u2014 true worship is by the Holy Spirit and not outward ritual<\/h3>\n

rejoice in Christ Jesus (v.3) \u2014 again, not an outward ritual (1 Corinthians 1:31)<\/span><\/a><\/h3>\n
